This compilation (subtitled "A Musical History of The Bahamas") was released in 1973 to coincide with the islands' independence from Britain, and features a solid representation of artists blending various Caribbean styles into their own special brew. Includes super killer, funk heavy track "Independent Bahamas" by Biosis Now. Plus other great tracks including classic "Funky Nassua" by The Beginning Of The End and "A New Day Is Dawning" by Bobby Smith. Vinyl in excellent condition with some very light superficial scuffs / paper scuffs - plays perfect. Gatefold sleeve in excellent.

Self titled LP from Caribbean musician who departed to London in the '60s, soon establishing himself as a formidable player on flute and tenor sax in Britain's flourishing jazz scene. This is the second RCA pressing from 1971 with orange labels (original pressing 1968). Even as a second press it is still scarce and sought after. Includes super swinging track "The Hipster"! Vinyl in strong excellent plus condition. Cover in excellent - strong corners with some minor light laminate creasing. Nice copy!
